mccaskill_on_tvSen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., attached an amendment to a defense spending bill proposing several regulatory changes for Alaska Native Corporations. However, after a telephone conversation with Sen. Begich she decided to withdraw the amendment, according to Begich’s office.

When Sen. McCaskill was questioned on Twitter (http://twitter.com/clairecmc) as to why she withdrew her amendment, she replied:

“Amndmt was withdrawn because other committees of jurisdctn hadn’t had time to look at it. I’ll be back with it,&get it done.”

In responding to the same topic in an earlier tweet, she replied:

Don’t worry MOinkslinger, I’m on it. There will be contracting reform as it relates to non compete contracts and ANCs.

Latest tweet on the subject:

ANCs are only group that gets unlimited no bid fed contracts. I want to encourage competition. Many are huge, they can compete
